The benefits, limits and any waiting periods are set out in your schedule and Explanation of Benefits, so you know what applies before you need treatment.

What is the Member ID card for?

Every member covered by Medical Takaful receives a Member ID card. It shows your membership details so that a medical facility and Kalkaal can identify you and check the benefits in your schedule. Carry it with you and show it whenever you attend for treatment. If it is lost, tell Kalkaal straight away.

Where can I see my benefits, limits and waiting periods?

Your schedule and Explanation of Benefits set out the benefit sections you have chosen, the limits for each, any waiting periods, and the conditions that apply, for example to maternity. Read them before you need treatment, and ask a Kalkaal advisor if anything is unclear. Treatment outside your chosen sections or limits is not covered.

Can an employer include staff dependants in a group scheme?

Yes. A group scheme can cover employees only, or employees and their dependants, such as a spouse and children. The employer chooses the benefit sections and limits, which may differ by staff grade. To prepare a quotation, a Kalkaal advisor will ask for a staff list or census showing each person's date of birth and the dependants to be covered.
