Make a claim
How to make a Takaful claim with Kalkaal: tell us as soon as possible, send your documents, then follow your claim through assessment and settlement.
We are sorry that you need to make a claim. This page explains what to do and what happens next. If you are unsure about any step, a Kalkaal advisor can guide you.
1. Tell us as soon as possible
Contact us by phone, WhatsApp or at our office as soon as you can after the event. Have your policy number or Member ID card number ready, with a short description of what happened, when and where.
- If something has been stolen, or an accident involves other people or their property, report it to the police as well and keep any reference they give you.
- Take photographs of the damage and the scene, where it is safe to do so.
- Do not admit liability, or agree to pay anyone, before you have spoken to us.
- Take reasonable steps to prevent further loss or damage.
2. Send your documents
The documents we need depend on your cover. They are listed by product further down this page. Send us copies first and keep the originals safe: we will ask for them if they are needed. If a document is not available, tell us and we will explain what else may help.
3. Assessment
We review your claim against the terms of your cover. For some claims, Kalkaal may appoint an assessor or loss adjuster to inspect the damage or look into the circumstances. We may also ask you for more information. We will keep you informed as your claim progresses.
4. Settlement
Eligible claims are paid from the participants' risk fund under the terms of your policy, after any deductible that applies.
If a claim is not payable, in full or in part, we will explain why in writing. We will also tell you how to ask for a review of the decision or how to make a complaint.
