FAQs
What is the difference between Clause A and Clause C cargo cover?
Clause A gives the widest cargo cover: it covers loss of or damage to the goods from any cause, except those the policy wording excludes. Clause C is narrower and covers major events only, such as fire, explosion, sinking, stranding, collision and jettison. The right choice depends on the goods, how they are packed and the route they travel.
Should I choose single transit cover or an open cover?
Single transit cover suits occasional shipments: you arrange cover for each consignment. An open cover suits regular importers and exporters: one agreement sets the terms, and each shipment you declare is covered without arranging cover trip by trip. Under an open cover you must declare every shipment that falls within it, as your schedule requires.
Are fishing vessels covered under Marine Takaful?
Fishing vessels belong on this Marine page, where they can be covered under Hull and Machinery Takaful. They are not covered under Agriculture and Fisheries Takaful, which is for fish farms, ponds and cages. Tell a Kalkaal advisor about your vessel, where it operates and its condition, so the right cover can be discussed.
