Who we are

This policy explains how Kalkaal International Insurance ("Kalkaal", "we", "us") handles information collected through this website. Kalkaal is a Takaful operator headquartered in Hargeisa and part of the Dahabshiil Group. We are licensed by the National Insurance Authority and the Central Bank of Somalia. Kalkaal is responsible for the information described in this policy.

Information you share with us

You can contact us through the forms on this website: quote requests, call-back requests, contact messages, partner enquiries and expressions of interest in the Kalkaal Academy. Depending on the form, we collect:

• your contact details, such as your name, phone number and email address
• the product or service you are interested in
• a message, if you choose to add one
• details about what you would like to cover, such as a vehicle, property or business activity, if you choose to add them

Some forms let you upload documents if you choose to, for example a document that supports a quote request. Please upload only documents that are relevant to your enquiry.

Health information

Please do not include health or medical details in website forms, messages or uploads. If you are interested in medical cover, give us your contact details and a Kalkaal advisor will contact you. The health information needed for medical cover is collected through the proposal process with an advisor, not through this website.

Website feedback

The "How is our website?" button lets you tell us how the website is working for you. It records your rating, an optional comment, the page you were on and the language you were using. It does not ask for your name or contact details. Please do not type personal information in the comment. If you would like a reply, use the Contact page instead.

Visitor statistics

Kalkaal counts visits to this website with its own privacy-first statistics. They help us understand which pages are useful, what people look for and how we can improve the site. We record:

• the pages viewed
• the words typed into the site search
• which buttons are used, such as quote, call-back, WhatsApp and downloads
• the language of the page
• the type of device, such as a phone or a computer
• the website that referred you, if any

We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking. To count returning visitors, the site uses an anonymous code that changes every day. A returning visitor is recognised only within a single day, and the code cannot be used to identify you. Statistics are reported only in totals, never as the record of one visitor.

How long we keep it

• Website statistics: 13 months.
• Website feedback: 24 months.
• Enquiries: for as long as we need to respond to you, and then in line with our records-retention policy and our legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us:

• for a copy of the information we hold about you
• to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
• to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information you send us, and we limit access to authorised staff. No way of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so please share only the information your enquiry needs.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we change the website or when the law changes. The current version is published on this page.
